Virtual Therapy for Asian Americans | High-Achieving Women in their 20s & 30s in NYC & across New York State

You’ve done everything “right.” Now you want a life that feels more like your own.

For women dealing with burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing who are tired of doing everything “right” and still not feeling like themselves.

High-achieving, capable, and carrying too much

You may be used to looking like you have it together. You show up, do what needs to get done, and keep going. But inside, you may feel anxious, worn down, overextended, or like your mind never fully shuts off.

A lot of the women I work with are thoughtful, capable, and used to functioning at a high level. They are often the ones other people rely on. What feels harder is slowing down, setting limits, or making room for their own needs without guilt.

You’re in the right place if you…

  • Have a hard time resting, even when you know you need it.

  • Feel anxious even when things seem “fine.”

  • Are hard on yourself in ways other people may not fully see.

  • Feel stuck in people-pleasing, overthinking, or pressure to keep holding everything together.

  • Want a life that feels more grounded, more sustainable, and more like your own.

These patterns can take a toll on your energy, relationships, confidence, and sense of self. Therapy for Asian Americans can help you better understand what is keeping you stuck and start responding differently in ways that actually fit your life.

Culturally attuned therapy for Asian Americans that helps you move forward

Work pressure, family expectations, and unspoken cultural rules can keep you on high alert. Therapy can help you quiet some of that noise, understand the patterns underneath it, and make more room for what actually matters to you.

Together, we’ll…

  • Help you be more guided by what matters to you and less driven by your inner critic.

  • Build boundaries that protect your time and energy without so much guilt.

  • Shift the habits that keep you stuck in burnout, overthinking, and pressure.

  • Practice skills that help you respond to anxiety in ways that feel more grounded and realistic.

My work is Asian American-affirming, culturally attuned, and grounded in evidence-based therapy. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in ways that are adapted to your life, your values, and the kinds of patterns you’re trying to change.

You’re not broken. You’re carrying a lot. Therapy can help you understand what feels heavy and begin responding to it in ways that help you feel more like yourself again.

Therapy that meets you in the places that pressure shows up most

For some women, these patterns show up most clearly in work. They may be high-achieving women in high-pressure careers who look composed on the outside but feel stretched thin, overextended, or like they can never fully turn their brain off.

For others, these patterns show up strongly in other parts of life, such as in sports like running. Running may be one of the places where they feel strongest and most like themselves. It may also be one of the places where pressure, self-criticism, rest-day guilt, and fear of falling behind show up most strongly.

Different doorway, same underlying patterns.

Hey, I’m Angela, a NYC-based Clinical Psychologist.

I understand how burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing can be shaped not only by personality and stress, but also by family, culture, and the roles you learned to take on early.

As an Asian American therapist, I bring both doctoral-level training in evidence-based therapy and a culturally attuned lens to this work. I want therapy to feel like a place where you do not have to keep performing, over-explaining, or proving yourself. I want it to be a place where you feel understood and also genuinely helped.
